New Mexico is a home to a broad and growing renewable energy portfolio. This includes wind, solar, and geothermal — all important and necessary parts of the energy mix. For example, New Mexico is adding wind capacity at one of the fastest rates in the country. But there is a very real bottleneck that must be addressed.
The fact is, to harness the full potential of renewables in New Mexico, we must have infrastructure that allows us to deliver renewable-generated energy to homes, businesses, and utilities. To get there, we must place the same focus and positive momentum behind transmission as we currently do with renewable generation.
To make this happen, we need broad support for both renewable development and renewable delivery. That means we need allies like you. Working together, we will amplify our voices and secure a renewable energy future for all New Mexicans.
